Asset Protection

Hazard Separation Zone Services

A hazard separation zone is a buffer zone between a heavily vegetated area and the building protection zone. Our team are able to remove fire prone tree branches, remove small or large trees such as a palm trees, or clear a block of trees.

For the HSZ to be compliant generally we remove any smaller trees which are under the main canopy. This is called ladder wood and is called that because if a fire is running a long the ground once it gets to these smaller trees it can allow the fire to climb into the tops of the trees making the fire much harder to fight.

We also thin the remaining trees so there is a gap around each tree top again slowing the pace of a fire once the treatment is done the land under the trees should be maintained to keep the spread of fire to a minimum. The equipment we use depends on the site size terrain and vegetation density  e.g. grassy vegetation we use slasher flail mowers zero turn mowers and line trimmers. If heavily vegetated then mulchers and chipping crews. We do this work for all sorts of organisations and private clients
